Frequently Asked Questions

When someone reaches out for support, it is natural to have questions about mental health treatment options. At The Brandywine Center, we believe the more you know about our outpatient programs, the easier it becomes to take the first step.

Our goal is to help you feel confident that our care can meet your needs. Many people wonder what to expect from a treatment program. To make things clear, we have gathered answers to common questions about how our services work.

What Levels of Care Do You Offer at The Brandywine Center?

We provide outpatient mental health care with three levels of support. During admissions, our team will complete an initial assessment to determine which program fits your needs.

The programs we offer include:

  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
  •  Outpatient Care

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): This takes place Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Intensive Outpatient Program: This provides several therapy sessions per week for eight to twelve weeks.

Outpatient Rehab: Our lowest level of care requires attending one or two therapy sessions per week.

How Do I Pay For Treatment?

We offer a free insurance verification to see if your policy covers treatment with us. We can determine what, if any, co-pay will be your responsibility. For those without insurance, we have options for private pay to aid you in getting the help you need.

What Mental Heath Conditions Do You Treat?

We treat a variety of types of mental health disorders, including:

What if I or Someone I Love is in Crisis?

If you or someone close to you has thoughts and plans of hurting themselves or someone else, please seek help right away. Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. You can also dial 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, for free and confidential support available 24 hours a day.

Can I Force a Loved One Into Treatment?

The Brandywine Center is a voluntary outpatient program. We welcome clients who choose to begin care with us. While certain laws allow short-term holds in residential settings, our focus is on supporting individuals who are ready to take part in treatment.

How Does Outpatient Treatment Work?

Outpatient care does not require you to stay overnight in a facility. Instead, you attend scheduled therapy sessions at The Brandywine Center and return home afterward. This approach allows you to continue caring for personal responsibilities while receiving professional support.

Can I Get Help Anytime?

Yes. Our admissions team is available around the clock. No matter the time of day, someone is here to answer your questions and guide you toward the care you need.

Can I Have My Phone While In Treatment?

Yes. We are an outpatient program, so we do not hold patient phones during treatment. We ask that they not be used in a way that distracts the individual or others from their therapy sessions.
